    No taxation no representation.

Hongkong should pay tax to Central government first, serve in the army,
Then get the political right.

Pay fed tax is the basic obligation as a citizen of any country.

为什么不敢谈政治？你来过内地但是感觉好形式，做个问卷加朋友说能代表什么，特别是天安门口的问卷。。我大学专业涉及社会学，不知道你学的是否相关专业，直觉应该不是，要是就不这么业余了。你对大陆了解的不多却透着一股你们不自由不民主还活在10几年前的自信，不敢谈政治这个梗无力吐槽。过节吃饭餐馆都有高谈阔论的，真心烦。出门吃个老鸭粉丝汤过来拼桌的俩大学生就开始说不厚康师傅，要是不敢聊政治我大半夜的在聊个鬼，这个点手机一个个字的点也是醉了。不知道是谁被洗脑了，从小接受的讯息是港台多民主开放，现在我真迷惑了，地方太小眼界也会不开阔，也许我被政府洗脑，而你们被传媒洗脑

    跟娘亲谈过，觉得香港应该是社会多元化眼界开阔有包容性的地方，如今发觉狭隘险恶还不知足，很突兀还不若西北老农民淳朴自得。。。被嘲之，分析农耕文明反而会自然包容天地为师，商业资本社会蝇头小利皆是身家性命，汲汲名利者为众，果当如此。

HK has taxpayers. Hongkongers also have to pay tax. And please refer to the basic law:
－ HKSAR enjoy executive, legislative and independent judicial power, including that of final adjudication, in accordance with the provisions of this Law.
－ Hong Kong residents shall have freedom of speech, of the press and of publication; freedom of association, of assembly, of procession and of demonstration; and the right and freedom to form and join trade unions, and to strike.
－ The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region shall practise an independent taxation system.
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region shall, taking the low tax policy previously pursued in Hong Kong as reference, enact laws on its own concerning types of taxes, tax rates, tax reductions, allowances and exemptions, and other matters of taxation.

And most importantly, only defence and foreign affairs are subject to Chinese government's interfere. What's more, do you mean that if you dun pay tax, you cannot enjoy the social benefit of that society? If so, since all the tourist do not pay any tax, not even consumption tax, they should not find Hong Kong police for help when they travel? Or what about those enjoying the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme? People enjoying this scheme are not limited to HK permanent residents. Can you say that because they cannot enjoy this benefit so they should not get the subsidy from government? Moreover, why so many PRC investor come and invest in HK? One of the important reason is because Hong Kong provide a low tax rate and simple taxation system for the investors!

子非鱼，焉知其乐/苦也。。。。
一般普罗大众那会那么?容易会走上街头，采取行动反抗?事发必有因。。。
尤其是华人这种所穿了比较自私，只乎自己的温饱安稳生活，其他人的不太管(尤其政治)的人种。。lol
你看见了政府对我们华裔的压迫，可是部分马来人却抱着和你类似的想法  : 政府给你接受华教的机会，让你们吃猪肉，有自己的宗教，生意也被你们掌握，你们还不满足，既然不喜欢，就滚回中国吧。
这种多数民族 vs少数民族的想法/歧见， 估计世界上到处都是吧。

香港没有给中央政府交税。这个应该是类似于美国的联邦税。

香港人交的税是香港本地税，或者说是市政税，都用在香港人自己身上，比如
法院，警察，等等。

“战中”是消耗香港人自己的财富和税收，小商业者没收入，会少交税。大企业关门，
也会少缴税。但警察更忙，市政清理要花更多精力和钱。旅游，餐饮，金融交易，货物流通都会减慢，人才也会流失。一进一出，可以留住的财富就这么流走了。
当然股票做空的另算。

大陆不想多报道，大概是担心激化逆反心理，另外也是充分体现港人治港。不过学生
大概一时半会还比较迟钝，追求一种理想化的民主完美。等到他们家没饭吃了，就会
忽然明白这个道理了。

我们急什么？！ 我们强烈支持!

    所以这次的大部分都是学生。。。学生很热血，很拼，但是被利用啊。
很多市民现在上街去拆除路障去了。。。这就是生活被影响了的华人的抗议，还有那个骂支持占中的议员的老阿妈，骂得真是劳动人民的特色呐

The basic law doesn't exempt Hongkong from Fed tax explicitly. The law is not accurate and detailed, still have space to operate.

Personally I think exemption Hongkong from Fed tax is a stupid policy.

Look at the history of democracy, from ancient Greece, ancient Rome to modern Britain and American, paying taxes is the foundation of democratic power. The government taxes the citizens who own property, to fund national defense, education and other public services.  Hence the tax payers get the political rights to vote, assemble and speak at public affairs.

If Hongkong intended to integrate into China, then pay tax to central government, send young people to the army, take the responsibility as a member of China. As a return Hongkong could speak louder about its own affairs in Beijing, furthermore, to influence the policies about whole China.

Unfortunately from the behaviors of Hongkongers, I can only see Hongkong is trying to get away from China. In this case negative and tough responses could be expected from central government and people in mainland.

Being Marginalized both politically and economically is a foreseeable future of Hongkong.
